Last week, I started a post about all of the tours Lake County Florida has to offer. Here's the link to it in case you missed it: https://www.leesburg4rent.com/post/don-t-risk-another-boring-day-take-a-tour-in-lake-county-florida
This week, the list continues... enjoy!
Christmas Tour of Homes - Mount Dora - There are only two available dates for this tour, December 7 and 8, so if you hope to go, book early online or at one of the specified locations. Join in on the 42nd annual Christmas Tour of Homes, a self guided, self driving tour of 5-6 beautifully decorated homes for the holidays in Mount Dora. Tour tickets are $25, and you can add on an optional lunch at the Mount Dora Country Clubhouse for an additional $20. Tours begin at the Country Club of Mount Dora where guests exchange tickets for a tour wristband and a tour booklet containing a map of the participating homes.
Kayak or Paddleboard Tour with Adventure Outdoor Paddle - They offer various tours that include all equipment, and most of their tours last two hours. Tours take place on Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday and can be reserved online. Tours include the Dora Canal which has been referred to as the most beautiful mile of water in the world connecting Lake Dora with Lake Eustis and is home to herons, egrets, anhingas, cormorants, osprey, fish, and turtles - $45 per person. The Paddle & Bru Tour includes the Dora Canal along with a stop at the Bru Tap House with a flight of beer or wine for $54 per person aged 21+. The Blackwater Creek / Lake Norris Tour is just for kayakers traveling through dwarf cypress trees with numerous birds of prey - $50 per person. The Hickory Point on Lake Harris Tour travels along Hickory Point through a scenic hidden canal with cypress trees and plenty of wildlife - $45. Their Silver Springs Tour takes you on the crystal clear water with fish, birds, turtles, and monkeys - $65 per person. Additional tours and options are available.
Monster Bass Fishing Adventures - Harris Chain of Lakes - If a guided fishing charter sounds like an interesting option, here's one that won't cost you an arm and a leg. Captain Austin Sawchuk takes you on board his fully equipped 22 foot Hurricane Deck Boat which provides for ultimate stability on the water, easy on and off access, and is handicapped accessible. Everything you'll need is included - top quality rods, reels, tackle, and even bait (both live and artificial). This tour is great for beginners up through pros, and Austin says that anglers will have a great day on the water regardless of their skill level. You'll travel down the hidden waterways of the Harris Chain and hopefully catch some monster bass! A half day charter for up to four people lasts from 8 am - 12:30 pm for $225. A full day is from 8 am - 3:30 pm for $325. Children 16 and under must be accompanied 1:1 by a supervising adult.
Rusty Anchor Mount Dora - Boat Tour - Enjoy a covered boat tour where you might see alligators, turtles, ospreys, bald eagles, and river otters. The two hour Dora Canal Tour is $28 plus taxes/fees for everyone aged 13 and up, $15 plus for children 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. The one hour Mount Dora Sunset Cruise is $20 plus for ages 13 and up, $15 for aged 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. The one hour Mount Dora Christmas Lights Tour is $30 / $15 / free (see ages prior). Additional tours are offered including a sunset dinner cruise, Dora Canal lunch tour, and a Mount Dora Shoreline Tour. They also offer Cat Boat Tours of the Dora Canal and the Lake Dora Shoreline. If you're looking for an all day adventure, there is an eight hour Silver Springs Tour that includes Lake Dora, The Dora Canal, Lake Eustis, Haynes Creek, Lake Griffin, the Ocklawaha River, the Silver River, all the way to the Spring Boils of Silver Springs. This tour is $300 for ages 13 and up, $200 for ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under (one per paying adult).
Segway Tour of Mount Dora with Central Florida Glides - Join in on a one hour segway tour of historic Mount Dora. You'll travel along the waterfront, go past the Mount Dora Lighthouse, and wander around Palm Island Park along the nature paths and the raised boardwalk. From Palm Island, you'll head through some of the historic neighborhoods towards the Lakeside Inn and you'll travel along Lake Dora back to the tour home base. Tours can be purchased online for $49 plus tax per person, or if you prefer to reserve over the phone or by walk-up on the day of the tour, the cost is $55 plus tax per person. That does not include the tip for the tour guide. Tours are operated each day at 9:30 am, 11:30 am, and 1:30 pm. They recommend arriving early for your tour time so you'll have time to find parking. Tour participants must be 12 years of age or older (verify this prior to booking - in other places on their website it says the minimum age is 14), between 100-260 pounds, be able to step on and off a segway without assistance, and a helmet must be worn (theirs or yours). If you have completed the historic Mount Dora tour, they have a secondary tour that you can sign up for called the Dogwood Mountain Tour. The Dogwood Mountain Tour lasts 60-80 minutes and is a higher speed tour that travels along Lake Dora to Lake Gertrude where you will see historic lakeside homes, winding roads, and beautiful vistas around Dogwood Mountain. This secondary tour requires a minimum of two guests and the prices are $49 plus tax in advance or $55 plus tax on the day of the tour. They offer gift certificates as well.
